About Aras BnB
Aras is a B&B in Glencolumbkille, West Donegal, Ireland. We’re a family run Bed and Breakfast with a homely feel.
We offer a selection of 20 rooms, so whether you’re a solo traveller for a night, or a group/family enjoying a week long stay, we’ve got you covered. We offer single rooms, double rooms, triple rooms, or family rooms of up to 6 guests (scroll further to see room examples). We can also cater to large groups of up to 50 guests. Pick from 20 rooms, cozy up in our homely kitchen area with its own rustic fireplace, and kick your feet up in our upstairs lounging area (with sea and mountain views).
A short 5-minute drive takes you to the historical town of Glencolumbkille, or an 8-minute drive gets you to Silver Strand beach (often rated the most beautiful beach in Ireland). A 15-minute drive and you’re at the world-famous Slieve League sea cliffs, offering spectacular views and breath-taking hiking.

We offer a selection of 20 rooms, ranging from single beds, double beds, and triple beds, to Family rooms of up to 6 guests. See our Groups page in the menu if you’re booking more than 6 people.
Single Rooms
Room details:
Our single rooms feature a single bed, a chest of drawers, clothing rail, and en-suite bathroom.
Double or Twin rooms
Room details:
Rooms feature a double bed or two singles (select when booking), a chest of drawers, and a closet. Bathroom facilities include a shower, wash basin and toilet.
Triple room
Room details:
Our triple room features a double bed, a separate single bed, a chest of drawers, a closet, and an en-suite bathroom.
Family rooms (up to 6 guests)
Room details:
We have 3 family-room options, sleeping 4, 5, or 6 guests. The rooms come with a selection of double beds, single beds and bunk-beds. If booking a family-room we kindly ask that you contact us ahead of your stay to discuss your requirements, so that we can arrange the room to best suit your needs.

Leon and Gill are incredible, good-humored, thoughtful hosts and people. The location in beautiful Donegal is perfect, a short distance from Glencolumbkille and the incredibly scenic Silver Strand beach. Leon will be happy to give you information about the local places that cannot be missed. We cannot recommend Aras more; a must stay.

Booking FAQs
What payment methods do you accept?
We gladly accept credit card payments, debit card payments, bank transfers, or cash. For cash bookings, a deposit request link will be sent to you; this will need to be paid ahead of time, via one of the other methods.
What is your Cancellation policy ?
If you wish to cancel your booking, the following terms shall apply:
- Cancellations made with more than 7 days prior to booking date: free (0% cancellation fee).
- Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to booking date: full charge (100% cancellation fee).
What is your deposit policy?
We will email you a deposit request 14 days before your scheduled arrival. You will need to please pay this at least 7-days before the date of your booking.
What are your check-in times?
Please check-in between 16:00 and 21:00. If you need to arrive earlier, and we aren’t in, please enter through the front door and make yourself at home in the kitchen off the foyer (grab a coffee).

Things to do around us
Our area (West Donegal) has some of the wildest, most incredible landscapes in Ireland. With sweeping coastlines and idyllic beaches, rolling hillsides, ancient stone-age sites, and some of the highest sea-cliffs in Europe (Slieve League), Aras BnB is the perfect place to stay while you explore all there is to do.
West Donegal is the ideal place for nature lovers, hikers, or simply for those who want to get away from city life. Our B&B is perfectly located for you to explore Glencolumbkille and its surroundings (either by foot, bicycle or just a short drive). We offer free bicycles on site (first come first serve), or feel free to contact us to arrange e-bike rentals.
